This is a recipe for Key Lime Pie. It's from the grandmother of a friend of mine. She was born and has spent her whole life in the Keys so it's an authentic "conch" recipe, although most likely slightly modernized.:
Combine sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks and lime juice. Pour into pie shell. Beat egg whites until frothy and gradually add sugar and cream of tartar. Beat until soft peaks form. Top pie with meringue and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until meringue is browned.
Then sit back and enjoy!
