Black Devil's Food Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Black Devil's Food Cake

This cake is really simple, as it is a "dump cake" - all ingredients mixed together at once, and the "leftovers" (if any) seem to get moister instead of drying out.

Ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 1-3/4 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup cocoa
• 1 Tbsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 egg
• 2/3 cup cooking oil
• 1 cup strong coffee
• 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk

Directions

Mix all ingredients together. The batter will be thin. Pour into greased 9X13 cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40 minutes - until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Frosting Ingredients

• 1/2 cup softened cream cheese
• 1/2 cup softened butter
• 2 tsp vanilla or almond extract
• 2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

Beat cream cheese and butter together. Beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla.
