Dessert Pears
Contributed by SSBB's own Red Cabbage
Directions
Get pears for the amount of people you want to serve. Any kind but Bosk will be fine.
Cut the ends off each pear so that it sits flat on a saucer.
Blanch them for 20 minutes.
Let them drip dry then bake them (upright) for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Leave them in a warm oven until serving time.
There are many kinds of toppings you can use for this dessert, here are several:
- Place on a saucer, and drizzle melted dark chocolate over them in a random pattern, lightly drizzle the sides of the saucer, add a sprig of mint to the side.
- If you have a sweeter tooth than that, try mixing the chocolate with a bit of honey before drizzling.
- Place the pears on saucers and use a raspberry pie filling for a topper, you may want to add a pinch of cream of tarter to put a light zip to the flavor.
- To be really decadent, drizzle chocolate over the raspberries, for this, a raspberry sauce would be better.
