A southern favorite and a popular request. Sorry, I don't measure much.
Mix the biscuit mix, salt and some milk to the point where its just a little too dry.
Add some blackberry juice. Don't overbeat (strange writing that here).
Add your sugar, add juice to where your batter is just *right*. Taste often to make sure :)
Place in a buttered casserole dish.
Cover with the blackberries and some more juice.
Bake at 325 for almost an hour-if it begins to brown too much cover with foil until finished-check with spoon the consistency of cobbler.
Remove; let rest for a few, then serve with vanilla ice cream.
enjoy.
[1] hmm ok how to describe this....are you familiar with the small envelopes of mixes that make batches of cornbread? Usually they are found in the muffin/flour section of the isle in the grocery store-you can find the same size envelopes/baggies that make biscuits...use 2 of um that help a little?
