Fallen Angel Cake:

Start with one angel food cake, use your favorite recipe or even buy a mix, doesn't really matter. The cake should be sliced into three equal pieces along the y axis. (top, middle, bottom) Place the bottom layer on a large platter and drizzle it with Frangelico. Don't soak it, but do be generous. Have a glass of Frangelico yourself, it's good stuff. A small glass, though, you'll need more for the cake. Now, get our your mixer or your blender and whip that cream. Go on, hit it harder. Don't use a single-tail though, that would be bad. When it's nice and fluffy, add a small sploosh of vanilla, a small sploosh of Frangelico, and enough powdered sugar to make it taste sweet. Yes, I know a 'sploosh' isn't a scientific measurement...have another small glass of Frangelico to help you get over this obsession you have with measurements. Now take about a quarter of your whipped cream and spread it over the first layer of cake. Sprinkle a generous portion of slivered almonds over the top. Add the next layer and perform the same routine...Frangelico, whipped cream, almonds. Ditto the top layer. Smooth whipped cream down the sides as well, and smoosh some almonds on there, as well. Add an extra layer of whipped cream on top of the almonds on the top layer. Drizzle honey on top. Make cute little wings out of slivered almonds to decorate the cake. Drink the rest of the bottle of Frangelico. Put the cake (covered) in the freezer for a while. I don't know how long. At least until the bottle is empty. Probably a couple of hours would be better. Maybe you ought to start with *2* bottles, just to be safe. Lick any left over whipped cream out of the bowl. It's good stuff. Or slather it over your partner and lick it off of them. That sounds like more fun. If you're out of Frangelico, in a pinch, you can drink the vanilla. No, I didn't really mean that, just kidding. Have fun. Serve your cake with scalding hot Irish coffee.
